SPECIAL NOTE:  In response to the recent earthquake in Haiti and the great need for immediate disaster relief and assistance, we are supporting, and encourage our website visitors who are able to do so, to also support the organization Doctors Without Borders to help bring emergency medical care to those affected by the earthquake in Haiti. While there are many very fine organizations responding to this crisis, medical care is imperative right now, and Doctors Without Borders has an outstanding history of effective emergency crisis response as well as of maximizing the impact of donations where they count the most, while mimimizing overhead.
